Meet the world’s newest oldest person, Violet Brown from Jamaica.
Violet is believed to be the world’s oldest person following the recent death of Emma Morano from Italy, who passed away on Saturday, as reported by Love Pattaya here
At 117 years old, Violet believes the key to her long life is hard work.
“Honour your mother and father so your days may be long,” She said.
She worked on a sugar cane farm with her husband for many years.
Also known by locals as “Aunty V”, she is always being asked what her secret to long life is. She tells them she eats everything except for chicken and pork and she never touches rum.
She has a 97-year-old son, who could live to overtake his mother’s age.
She has a few years to go before beating the record of French woman Jeanne Calment, who died at 122 in 1997.
Let’s hope Violet surpasses the age of 123.
