The author behind the vastly popular book a Prayer Before Dawn which details a British man’s time behind bars in Thai prisons where he took part in Muay Thai tournaments, a book that has since just been adapted into a movie is reportedly back behind bars this time in the UK.

Billy Moore really couldn’t have been arrested at a worse time spending the weekend behind bars and missing the premier of his new movie.

The 45-year-old Muay Thai fighter turned author was arrested on Friday on suspicion of stealing items including jewellery, flip-flops and alcohol from a female neighbour’s house, the thefts allegedly happened last September.

The movie adaption of his book was met with rave reviews when it was showed to critics last year at the Cannes Film Festival.

Both the book and movie are based on the true story of Moore’s time behind bars at Chiang Mai Central Prison and Klong Prem Central Prison also known as the “Bangkok Hilton.”

There is still no official release date for the upcoming movie here in Thailand however the film does hit theatres in the US in the next couple of months.
