A young man from Northern Ireland was seriously hurt following a motorbike accident whilst on holiday in Thailand and remains in intensive car after having to have his right leg amputated following the accident.
Ross Davidson from Co Antrim sustained severe leg injuries after he crashed his scooter in the Pai area of the kingdom last Friday.
The 23-year-old had been working in the Crown Bar in Belfast before going traveling on November 7.
Ross’s parents, Andrew and Desna have both flown to Thailand to be with their son.
Doctors said they had no choice but to amputate his leg above the knee following the accident.
Ross had taken out two separate travel insurance policies prior to going traveling, however so far only one has said they might cover some of the cost of the medical treatment.
Currently over £15,000 has been raised through a fundraising page set up on JustGiving.
Ross’s father said his family is “amazed and overwhelmed” with the support and help people are giving.
