Police in Norway have carried out a controlled explosion of what has been described as a “bomb like device” in Oslo. They have a suspect in custody for questioning.

A loud bang was heard shortly after the bomb squad arrived on the scene in central Oslo.

Police in Norway have been on high alert following recent events in Sweden, when a truck ploughed into a crowd in the capital city of Stockholm on Friday. As a result four people were killed and at least fifteen injured, in what police have deemed a terrorist attack.
