A police officer was shot dead and two others injured before security officers killed the gunman.

The atrocity unfolded when a car pulled up alongside a police bus. A man got out, opening fire on the bus with an automatic weapon.

After killing an officer, the man attempted to flee, while shooting at other officers, two of whom were injured.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the fatal shooting in a statement by the jihadists propaganda agency Amaq.
