Two girls from Singapore have become entrepreneurs as their all female gym has taken off.
Encore gym was originally established for both men and woman but the girls who are both twenty-five, decided it would be better for business of they had an all girl gym.
Vivian Chan and Natalie Soh, founded Encore Gym in 2016, using Muay Thai as a fitness regime and have never looked back.
Encore gym sits in the centre of Joo Chiat and attracts a large number of females.
Vivian said “We wanted Muay Thai to help build women’s confidence in themselves and obviously a means of getting fit too”.
Cleverly, Chan also owns a business that is located next door that deals with pain relief and sport injuries, just in case anyone needs specialist treatment.
Vivian and and Natalie are close friends as well as business partners and both have a love of Muay Thai.
Chan said “their love of the sport has brought us close together. I love how someone who is petite like me can become so powerful and nimble, through the art of Muay Thai. I am also half Thai.”
Chan has retired from fighting and now concentrates on helping others through their injuries, coaching in martial arts or handling marketing for the business. She creates a lot of images and videos, all aimed at promoting the gym.
Soh doesn’t work at the clinic, but her side projects include making mouth-watering Sio Bingbing raindrop cakes and Thai Milk Tea Bingsu.
Now no longer available in stores, she revealed that she still runs road shows and bringing it back to the market with more food to come!
