The Ethiopian government has blocked internet access to prevent national exam papers being leaked online, following leaks that occurred during exam periods in 2016.
The move is to prevent students from cheating and also to ensure there are no distractions from social media during study time.
It was announced that only social media sites had been blocked but many living in the country claim that general internet coverage has been disrupted, including mobile and computer access.
The country has been in a state of emergence since October 2016 because of anti-government protests occurring.
