A Dutch man and his Thai wife were found dead in their Amsterdam apartment by Dutch police on Monday.
Police said they found the bodies of Pieter Hoovers, 54, and his at this time unnamed Thai wife in their apartment in Ceintuurbaan, after members of Hoover’s family called the police to report them not being seen for several days.
Officers said that the couple suffered a violent death under suspicious circumstances.
Hoover had lived in Pattaya since 1990 and owned the Hoek van Holland restaurant in Jomtien opened in 2002.
In recent years the couple had been splitting their time between the two countries.
A report in Het Parool claims that Hoover had ties to criminal organisations in Holland in Thailand.
