Tiger Woods has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol in Florida on Monday morning.
However, the golfing legend claims it was prescribed medication that caused him to fail the test, following a reaction to the drug.
Woods said alcohol was not involved and an unexpected reaction to prescription medicine was why he was arrested. Nevertheless, he accepts full responsibility and understands the severity of what he has done.
Newspapers printed a mugshot taken at the time of his arrests, depicting a bloated face and puffy eyes.
Woods, 41, has been out of action due to an injury appears to be a shadow of the golf star many adored and loved. The golfer has had back surgery, and is in recovery presently.
Woods turned professional in 1996. In April 1997, he won his first major competition, the Masters, being the youngest ever winner at just 21.He followed this up with the fastest ever ascendancy to the number one spot in the World Golf Rankings.
Over the years he has won four Masters Tournaments, three US Opens, the Open Championship three times, and the PGA four times.
Let’s hope that Tiger can make a full recovery and get back to what he does best – playing golf.
