A child who was born in mid-flight on an Indian owned Jet Airways trip from Saudi Arabia to India, has been given free lifetime air tickets by the company.
The baby was delivered by the air crew, with the help of a passenger, who fortunately was a trained nurse, as the plane cruised at 35,000 feet. When the Boing 737 landed in Mumbai, the mother and her newborn child were transported to hospital.
The airline praised its crew for the way way they dealt with the situation, which was a first for the company.
The child will grow up, knowing he or she can enjoy many flights – all completely free.
