According to the latest survey, a British tourist can spend almost six weeks in Thailand while only four weeks in Mexico or Jamaica will £500 per head. This same amount when spent to purchase 3 meals, four soft drinks, two beers, a coffee and two public journey transports, would last not even a week in Switzerland, Norway and Denmark.
Belgium, Britain, Ireland, Finland, France, Australia and Italy would permit eight to nine days with the same amount.
The chart below gives details of the world’s 10 cheapest holiday destinations as per the study by Travelex, which takes into account the cost of 50 items, i.e. from accommodation, food and drink to clothing, leisure activities and bills.
The data further clarifies, £11.43 will cover food, drink and travel in Thailand, while around £20 will provide the same in Mexico, Jamaica and parts of Eastern Europe, including in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Hungary. £30 per day for the same in Portugal whiles nothing less than £90 for a day in Switzerland and Norway. U.S and Australia will cost you around £50 a day. Spain and Barbados would cost about £40 in daily, whereas UAE and Canada in £45.
In the survey, what was also found was that the eastern European countries charged the cheapest for beer and coffee with Bulgaria offering the cheapest for both.
Denmark on the other hand costs the highest for coffee, i.e. £4 per drink and UAE costing £9 per beer, is the costliest.
