Missing Malaysian Activist Crosses Into Thailand

A missing Petaling Jaya councillor is believed to have crossed from Malaysia into Thailand.

Peter Chong’s border crossing at Bukit Kayu Hitam was confirmed by police using immigration records and photos.

He crossed over on April 7th at 06:30.

It is unclear what Mr. Chong’s motives are for departing Malaysia following his disappearance. Police in Malaysia are concerned that his plan was to create panic in the country and if that is the case, they will take action against him.

There are five activists in the country, thought to have been abducted but police confirmed they had only investigate one instance of alleged kidnapping and that was that of Raymond Koh.

The other four have been classified as missing persons.
