One of the worst things that you could possibly see during a flight, when you look out of the window is the plane missing a chunk of its wing but that’s exactly what happened on a recent Thomas cook flight.
The Thomas Cook Airlines flight MT2652 was supposed to fly from Manchester to Holguin in Cuba but returned to Manchester after flying for an hour. The stricken jet suffered a suspected “technical fault” in mid-air.
The pilot was forced to return as a precautionary measure to Manchester as a result of a low oil warning light, which was not related to the wing damage.
A spokesman said that the missing wing tip does not affect the jets ability to fly.
The aircraft has since been taken out of service so investigations and maintenance work can be carried out.
Passengers on the flight were provided with overnight accommodation and the company aims to get them to their destination as soon as possible.
Would this incident put you off flying in the future?
