A supersonic car known as the “Bloodhound” is going to be tested for the first time at Newquay Airport, England on the 26th or October.
The engineers will put the machine through preliminary checks before they head to South Africa next year with a view or breaking the land speed record.
The current record is 763mph (1,228km/h) but organisers hope to reach speeds of up to 1000 mph, not that the UK will witness those sort of speeds.
Andy Green set the record in ThrustSSC back in 1997 at Black Rock Desert, US
