Thirty Manchester United supporters have been killed in a freak accident in Nigeria.
The fans were watching the Reds play Anderlecht in their Europa League encounter when a power cable fell on them in the city of Calabar.
The electrical cable is thought to have fallen on to a building where the fans were watching the match on TV. Thirty were electrocuted as a further fifty escaped.
The Manchester club tweeted “Our thoughts go out the United fans, their friends and families affected by the tragedy in Calabar.”
A witnessed said a transformer exploded at the viewing centre, which caused the high tension cable to drop on the building.
There was a loud bang, then the cable fell on the building.
