As part of a new community-service program here in Pattaya personnel from the Chonburi Immigration office took to the sands on a stretch of Jomtien Beach to remove rubbish and other unwanted debris.
The beach clean-up operation was led by Superintendent Pol. Col. Srongprode Sirisuka, taking charge of the 100 strong crew who worked towards the far end of Jomtien beach.
After removing the rubbish and tending to the landscape officials asked for help from local residents in keeping the beach looking tidy.
Col. Srongprode said that the clean-up was part of an effort to develop teamwork and build closer ties with people from the local community all the while helping to protect the environment.
There are further future community service projects currently being planned.
