56 motorcycle street racers were rounded up at 2:30 am on Thursday as troops and Ministry officials used Facebook to find out information of where and when the illegal racing was happening.
Roughly 100 troops and officials from the Bang Lamung district were sent to the flyover at Sattahib-Nakhon Ratchasima road, where they found some 300 racers on the outbound stretch of road.
The racers quickly scarpered when the authorities arrived but the troops managed to round up 56 racers and 53 motorcycles.
The ages of those arrested ranged from 14 to 28 and all were taken to the Huay Yai police station to either await collection by their parents and or pay fines.
Police received complaints that the road was being used for street racing so officers checked Facebook pages to learn the time of the next meeting.
