Pattaya police responded quickly to a report of a man attempting to exchange counterfeit notes at an exchange booth on Sunday Morning
Marinee Dee-Ubon, 30, discreetly alerted the authorities to come to her booth on Soi 7 off of Pattaya Second Road when Gauray Singh, 30, an Indian national attempted to exchange $1200 in fake $100 notes at 2am.
Ms Marinee checked the notes several times to be sure that they were forgeries.
As she waited for the police to arrive she delayed exchanging the money and kept the man talking to keep him at the booth without causing suspicion.
Mr Singh was still at the booth when the police arrived and was apprehended and taken to Pattaya police station where he was charged with possessing counterfeit currency.
