Pattaya’s Bali Hai Pier will partially close on the 10th of July, 2017 for reconstruction work to take place. which could disrupt many services operating from the area.
Speedboat operators and other businesses will be asked to relocate to Pattaya Beach till the work is complete. In total, 26 companies will be affected.
Initially, the parking and drop-off points will be closed along with the pavilion but alternative locations for parking and setting down of passengers will be provided.
Anyone wishing to hire a speedboat from the pier, will have to head to Pattaya Beach near the Hard Rock Hotel and Royal Garden Plaza areas. Of course this will put additional pressure on the companies already operating from the beach area.
Operators will be permitted to return once the work has been completed but no dates were given.
Many of the speedboat companies must be baffled by the latest decision, having recently been told to move from the beach to the pier.
Companies who provide scuba diving services will be worst affected because their larger vessels cannot get close to the shore and have to transport air tanks and equipment back and forth from their boats.
