It was a busy day for members of the Pattaya marine emergency services on January 11 as not only did they save an American tourist who had come off from his Jet Ski but also transported an injured Chinese tourist from Koh Larn to the mainland hospital.
Both rescue opperations were led by the director of the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department here in Pattaya, Surat Thepchayto.
To start their shift they discovered a 22-year-old American tourist who apparently got a little lost whilst out on a Jet Ski before falling into the water, emergency personnel found him clinging to the Jet Ski too exhausted to climb back on.
Rescue workers noted that they found the young man about 150 meters out to see opposite Jomtien Soi 15 some twelve blocks away from where his cousin was patiently waiting for him and the craft.
Rescue workers returned the American man to the shore unharmed along with the Jet Ski.
Not long after they were called to the island of Koh Larn which is about 15 minutes off the coast of Pattaya via speedboat to transport a stricken Chinese tourist who had sustained a back injury to the mainland, he was carried by stretcher to and from the boat before being transferred to a local hospital.
