If you go down to the beach today, you’re in for a big surprise. Well if today is Wednesday and you happen to be on the island of Koh Larn that is.
Samae Beach will have no chairs on it every Wednesday according to Pattaya officials, who want to make the beach a more natural environment.
Work crews cleared away natural debris from the sands giving it a pristine look and with chairs and umbrellas prohibitted each Wednesday, Samae Beach will have a completely different and unusual look about it. Officials believe that it will aid in the promotion of the beach with tourists.
Koh Larn has 5000 visitors per day, with many saying they should limit the tourists arriving on the island. So why promote it further?
There is an issue with a build up of litter and garbage on the island, which needs to be addressed and it is hoped that vendors will assist in maintaining a clean beach when their chairs are not present.
One issue that the tourist could face each Wednesday is where they will shelter from the heat of the sun without umbrellas.
