Chinese woman arrested in Pattaya on alleged hotel room theft

Police in Pattaya have arrested a 25-year-old Chinese woman for allegedly stealing money and a smartphone from a tourist from Hong Kong after going back to his hotel with him.

Pattaya’s chief of police Colonel Apichai Krobphet said that his officers arrested Xue Zhi last night shortly after Keung Fuk Lew, 48, arrived at the Pattaya police station to report his possessions stolen.

The tourist from Hong Kong told officers he met Xue using the WeChat application and arranged to meet up with her for a drink, after which they decided to go back to his hotel room, he said once he awoke he discovered his money and iPhone had vanished along with Xue.

Police wasted no time in tracking down the 25-year-old women and when they caught up with her they found 13,000 baht and an iPhone 6s in her possession.

She allegedly told officers that she had taken the items as the man had refused to pay her after they had sex.
