The scale replica of the royal funeral pyre that is being constructed in Chonburi is reported to be half finished.
And right on schedule to be complete before the funeral of his late majesty King Rama IX which begins on October 25.
The site of the pyre was toured by Governor Pakarathorn Thienchai and other top provincial and military personnel who inspected the 4.5 square-meter 20.8 meter high replica of the pyre currently being built in Sanam Luang in Bangkok on September 18.
The site will be used as a mirror ceremony to the cremation which will take place on October 26, one of many mirror ceremonies which will be held across the country.
The replica is being built by Italian Thai Co and once construction is complete decoration will begin ready for the October 26 ceremony.
