Mitsibushi, the German/Japanese owned truck manufacturer, have announced they will invest in a new truck assembly factory in Chon Buri. The move follows the conclusion of a seven year deal with Hong Kong based Tan Chong International.
Production will start in November once the plant has been completed in Laem Chabang.
Sascha Ricanek, Chief Executive said they will hire subcontractors to assemble their Fuso vehicles and hopes the new plant will produce 3,000 trucks per annum. They did not state who the subcontractor would be in their statement but the focus will purely be on the Thai market.
Daimler own approximately 89% of Fuso, with the Japanese owning the remainder of the company.
Good news for Thailand for their economy and jobs that will be created.
