Happy Birthday to the city of Pattaya, that’s right everyone’s favourite city turned 39 and celebrated the occasion with a merit-making ceremony at City Hall attended by officials and local residents.
The ceremony was conducted by Pattaya’s Mayor Anan Charoenchasri on November 29, which included chanting from monks from nine local temples to continue the city’s good fortune.
Pattaya officially became a city back in 1978 when the Pattaya City Administration Act was signed, previously the area was known as Naklua Sanitation District which came into being back in 1956.
Due to growing expansion in the year’s following 1956 the Pattaya City Administration Act was signed, the popular coastal resort city has been under the control of the administration ever since.
