Authorities announced the arrest of the baht bus driver responsible for the deaths of five passengers and injuring nine others as he attempted to flee to Cambodia on November 28.
Somporn Thamaen, 35, was taken into custody at a border crossing in Sa Kaeo Province and escorted back to Sattahip.
Somporn was driving a pick-up with 15 people on board travelling from Naklua to Sattahip when the pick-up careered off the road into a large Pradhu tree on November 18, the wreck left the bodies of passengers strewn along the roadside after the passenger bay was completely destroyed.
The crash was apparently a result of the driver and his wife having a heated argument which turned physical before the truck collided with the tree.
Police said the crash was a result of careless driving.
