Pattaya land owners have been order to fence off vacant land and erect signs in a bid to stop them being used as dumping grounds.
And not before time I hear you say.
The practice of dumping waste on any piece of land is a blight on Pattaya in the same way that packs of wild dogs are. Both need addressing if the city is serious about increasing tourist numbers.
The city’s Mayor Anan Charoenchasri ordered a survey of open fields and their owners.
As a result of the survey, action has been taken as letters were sent to all offending land owners.
Now what is needed is a clean up of these sites, with immediate effect.
Pattaya is a wonderful holiday destination and a place where people come to retire but no one wants to buy or rent property that is surrounded by filth and waste or packs of dogs.
Well done to Pattaya’s mayor for taking a stance.
