A few people lately have been a little down in the dumps about the apparent lack of holiday makers arriving in Pattaya for this year’s high season well this might not be the case after all.
Sophon quoted a high level business and tourism official as saying that Pattaya is booming and the future is looking very bright.
The official Ekkasit Ngamphichet regarded the city’s New Year celebrations as a fantastic success applauding the shows and giveaways which were put on over the festive period remarking that the new family friendly Pattaya is in full swing.
Ngaphichet stated that the New Year was wonderful in Pattaya and hotel occupancy reports suggest that hotels were full to bursting with nearly 100% of rooms being booked.
It was noted that the bulk of tourists flocking to the popular coastal city arrived from China and Japan though it was stated many were F.I.T tourists (free independent tourists) those not arriving as part of tour groups.
Several special shows were laid on over the two-day New Year’s celebration to help further entice travelers to the city with the grand finale featuring a 1 million baht pick-up truck being given away to one lucky winner.
He noted that it’s not just the New Year celebrations that keep tourists flocking to the city with events happening all year round such as the international fireworks display, music festivals and much more which are making Pattaya a very desirable destination for families.
What are your thoughts is Pattaya as busy as ever this high season?
