Plans are afoot to built thirty new bus shelters in Pattaya as local authorities make moves to improve public transport in the city.
The shelters are to be put in place to help tourists locate the bus stops easier. At present, the designated stops are simply marked with yellow paint at the kerbs and roadside.
The cost is said to be in the region of 1.4 million baht and will see the new bus stops erected generally on the main thoroughfares around Pattaya.
This is good news for the city but further enhancements such as pavements, road repairs and possibly one way streets would go a long way to making Pattaya a safer place for pedestrians.
Authorities need to tackle the age old problem of motorbikes driving against the flow of traffic and of course on pavements.
But as they say – every little bit helps.
