It seems Pattaya officials are getting tougher on regulations after a South Pattaya pub built close to the recently redeveloped Bali Hai Pier was ordered to be demolished as it was built without the proper permits.
The demolition work began on December 21 and was overseen by regional building inspection chief Chris Chunsuriya as workers began to take apart the Muse Pub at Bali Hai Pier.
It was reported that officials discovered that the two-story 476 square-meter premises being built by Volna Entertainment Co was being built without permission on land close to the jetty, work was ordered stopped on November 15, but the order was ignored.
Officials have since hired in a team of private contractors to demolish the building and the bill is being sent to the owners.
It is estimated that the demolitions work will take about 45 days to complete.
