According to a report by Sophon Cable TV Pattaya is making preparations for a flood of visitors expected to descend on the resort city for the start of this year’s coming high season.

Kicking off the start of high season is the Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat show which runs from November 23 and concludes on November 26 and the International Fleet Show which is currently in progress and concludes on November 22.

Officials announced that an additional 6,000 tourists were expected to arrive in the city to watch the events.

Sanpetch Suphabawornsathian, head of the hotelier’s association for the Eastern Seaboard stated that hotel bookings for the events were at 90 percent in Pattaya where the majority of people attending the events are expected to stay.

He went on the note that the majority of those who had booked accommodation were families who had done so online.

It was also noted in the report that many hotels in Pattaya had reduced their rates by 10 percent for serving military personnel who have travelled to Pattaya to watch or take part in the International Fleet Review.
