Pattaya is to be developed into a city of “Tourism For All” according to various organisations, who have worked in conjunction to come up with this elaborate plan.
As a result, we could see the city benefit from becoming a city capable of offering disabled people improved facilities and new amenities for the elderly.
The Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (Public Organization) and the Friendly Design For All Foundation, released plans and project details on Thursday. The move if seen through to fruition, would certainly be a welcome one from anyone who is disabled for the facilities across the city are more or less non-existent.
The plan is to make life easier for people irrespective of age or disability, with improved transport and safety being to the fore of the concept.
The ceremony on Thursday was presided over by Minister of Tourism and Sports, Weerasak Kowsurat, and Minister of Transport Arkhom Termpittayapaisith as they announced the news, which will utilise 18 organisations from both public and private sectors to deliver the end results.
With the lack of pavements alone in Pattaya being a problem, this is going to be a huge task but one that is surely worthwhile.
We wish all involved every success and hope to see a better Pattaya in the future.
