A Pattaya hospital has allegedly turned away patients as they did not have thread to stitch injuries.
Pattaya City hospital have been invited to explain the news following suggestions it was not fit for purpose by a rescue organisation.
The incident occurred when an accident victim was rushed to the Emergency Room of the hospital in an unconscious state. The ambulance team were shocked as a doctor turned them away saying they had no thread to provide stitches.
Before long the news broke on line as many members of the public were outraged, asking how the situation could be possible in modern times.
A Pattaya City Hospital spokeswoman, offered her apologies, saying a new executive committee was now in place to deal with internal problems.
Jidaphat Worasittanon promised to investigate the claims that there was no thread anywhere in the hospital, preventing treatment taking place. She assured those concerned that there would no recurrence of the incident in the future.
