Pattaya police happy after apprehending thieves in under 24 hours

Pattaya’s station chief Apichai Krobpetch was all smiles when speaking to the media yesterday to announce that his officers had managed to solve two separate crimes in under 24 hours.

With both crimes happening on Monday and the perpetrators arrested on Tuesday.

The first crime solved involved was the theft of an iPad by a Thai woman who made off with it after going home with an Irish man after a night out.

The victim only identified as Mr K, returned to his residence at Niran Grand Condominium in Central Pattaya with Adree Wongsatho, 42, and awoke to find the woman and his iPad mini both gone.

After reporting the incident officers quickly found the light fingered woman still in possession of the iPad which was taken away as evidence and Adree arrested.

The second crime involved a bag snatch which took place at 5am Monday morning at the end of Walking Street.

Suphakporn Lam-tanote, 33, hailed the motorbike taxi who when pulling up dropped his phone.

Suphakporn went to pick it up for the driver, Chay Khongumthangam, 39, who then seized the opportunity to snatch her bag which contained a smart phone, money and identification and speed off.

Officers tracked the motorbike thief to his home where he told the arresting officers he stole the bag to feed his Ya Ba addiction.

Both Victims reportedly thanked Pattaya’s finest for their quick police work in catching the suspects involved.
