Summer will soon be upon us and according to the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD), we are in for some scorching hot weather as temperatures could reach a sizzlung 43 degrees.
The rise in temperature follows a shift in winds originating in the Southern China Sea, through the Gulf of Thailand, which could deliver incredibly hot conditions from as early as March 3rd, 2018.
Certainly Pattaya has been rather warm in the last few days as people enjoy the sunny conditions. Temperatures of 35 degrees are being predicted, even in the northern parts of the country as an average temperature.
But claims that Pattaya could see the thermometer’s mercury climb steadily towards the 43 degree mark, could be a little too hot for many expats and tourists, who may run for cover.
The bad news is the hot conditions may also bring summer thunderstorms, strong gusty winds and even hailstones that would be capable of damaging crops and property. Drought’s could also be a problem for a while as the TMD suggest people should not waste water.
Tell us what you think. Is temperatures of 40+ too warm or are you one of those who love the heat?
