Pattaya TAT say New Year celebrations went well with 80% hotel occupancy

The head of the Tourism Authority of Thailand here in Pattaya stated that on the whole the New Year celebrations went very well with hotels across the entire Chonburi province enjoying 70-80 percent occupancy over the period.

Suladda Sarutilawan stated that her data indicated that New Year celebrations had attracted 150,000 tourists to the province where it is estimated they spent roughly 500 million baht.

She noted that events such as the Bangsaen Countdown 2018 and the Pattaya Countdown 2018 held at Bali Hai were both great events and helped attract people to the region.

It was also noted that many Thai people opted to return home to Northern provinces, however some elected to celebrate the New Year here in Chonburi due to it being relatively close to the nation’s capital.
