A tourist from Dubai couldn’t contain his joy and had to give one honest Pattaya taxi driver a hug after she safely returned his bag of which the contents collectively was worth roughly 200,000 baht and his airplane tickets and passport.
Mohammed Sulaiman Al Saubi was smiling from ear to ear at the pairs meeting which took place at Pattaya Police Station to hand back his missing valuables.
Mohammed and a fellow compatriot got into Netnapha Bunmeema’s cab at the Holiday Inn here in Pattaya destined for Suvarnabhumi International Airport when Netnapha confessed she was unfamiliar with the journey so the pair decided to switch to another taxi.
During the course of changing cabs one bag was accidentally left behind.
The bag in question turned out to be quite an important bag containing $3,100 in cash, two iPhones and the men’s passports and plane tickets.
Not long after setting of the pair realized their error and after a couple of phone calls a meeting was arranged at Pattaya police HQ to hand back the valuables.
Mohammed overjoyed to get his items back gave the honest taxi driver a massive hug and told members of the press that because of the kindness of the Thai people he would return to Thailand for sure.
It was reported that he gave Netnapha $300 (9,500 baht) as a reward for her honesty.
