According to Pattaya officials people will soon be charged for parking at the recently redeveloped Bali Hai Pier once the second phase of renovations are complete.
Pattaya’s Mayor Anan Charoenchasri oversaw a meeting of city officials on February 15 to discuss the second phase of the renovations which begun towards the latter part of last year as well as planned maintenance of the pier.
A consultant was hired last December to draft a new project which would include the pier, nearby buildings as well as the marina.
Upon reviewing the items at the meeting there was only one new item to be discussed which was a plan to start charging people to park in the pier’s main parking zone, with the revenue generated to be used for maintenance and upkeep of the pier.
City officials have tasked the Engineering Department with maintaining the city’s newest landmark the dancing fountain located at the pier and the Environmental Department with caring for all the recently planted trees and green areas also included in the redevelopment.
