Members of the public are up in arms over plans to remove one of the city’s most loved landmarks
Local authorities plan to remove North Pattaya’s dolphin roundabout so residents have started a petition which hundreds have already signed.
Authorities say that removing the roundabout will improve traffic flow around the city.
A local group called Pattaya Watchdog produced a mock up picture online with the caption “RIP. You will always be in our memories. Dolphin Roundabout.”
The group has asked Pattaya mayor Anan Charoenchasri to scrap plans to remove the roundabout and come up with an alternative solution to ease traffic congestion.
The famous Pattaya roundabout had been named as one of the twelve most beautiful roundabouts in the world in 2015 by the British Roundabout Association.
Residents are flocking in there hundreds to change.org to sign their moniker to save Pattaya’s famous dolphins.
