Rear Seat belts Must Be Worn In Thailand

Were you aware that when travelling in the rear of a car that “by law” you must wear a seat belt?

Police in the city of Pattaya have defended complaints following a foreigner’s fine for not donning a seat belt when travelling in the backseat.

They said “Everyone must wear a seat belt of face being fined.”

So when travelling in Thailand, to avoid the fine, simply buckle up.

Not only will you not be fined but it could save your life or the life of the person in front of you. Many people are killed in what could be non-fatal accidents. When the vehicle comes to a abrupt stop, passengers in the rear are flung forward, resulting in heads clashing with the person on front.

Stay safe folks and wear those seat belts.
