A Russian man drowned at a Beach in Sattahip on December 15, despite the best efforts from a Royal Thai Navy sailor to save the man.

Mr Tolstik Olegovich Igo, 22, was pronounced dead after being rushed to the Queen Sirikit Naval Medical Centre.

Chaiwuth Changsomboon, 57, a Navy Lt said he was out on Sattahip Beach when he saw a group of tourists dragging the Russian man from the water.

He quickly attempted to administer CPR as the man was unconscious and not breathing, after failing to respond to CPR Chaiwuth then rushed the unconscious man to Apakorn Kittiwong Hospital in the back of his pick-up, from there he was transferred to the Queen Sirikit Naval Medical Centre but the man never regained consciousness.

Police investigating the incident stated that the Russian man suffered an epileptic seizure whilst in the water.
