It was announced at a meeting by the head of the Hotel Association for the Eastern Seaboard
that the levels of Russian tourists arriving in Pattaya would begin to rise back to the level they previously were before the collapse of the rouble.
Sanpetch Suphabuansathian stated that many Russian charter flights were now re-directing to U-Tapao from Suvarabhumi International Airport which was a good sign for Pattaya hotel owners.
He said during the upcoming high season he anticipated that 80-90 percent of passengers landing at U-Tapao would come to Pattaya.
The rest are expected to go to Rayong, Chanthaburi or Trat.
Sanpetch said that there has been increasing interest from three large Russian travel agencies now that the rouble and Russian economy has begun to recover.
