Police are currently in the middle of an investigation and considering issuing charges to an owner of a coffee shop in Chon Buri’s Sattahip district for allegedly posting a video online as well as uploading photos of two models wearing only underwear and aprons to serve drinks to customers.
The images and video were widely shared on Thai social media and were said to be an attempt to attract more customers to the shop, however the stunt was met with mixed reviews online and now the police are investigating.
Pol Colonel Thanachai Usahakit said that his officers issued a summons to both the owner of the coffee shop and to both the models involved to report to the station yesterday.
He said that the images and video could be a violation of the Computer Crimes Act which carries a maximum jail sentence of up to 5 years and a fine of 100,000 baht.
The coffee shops owner, Prasong Sukkorn, 50, said that he intended for the post to be “sexy, not lewd and not to tarnish society.”
He said that the idea of the post came from a suggestion from one of the models who offered to promote his business in return for free coffee.
Despite the owner removing the images and photos Thanachai said that the offence has already been committed.
