A Russian guest at the Natural Park Resort in Jomtien, Pattaya has been bitten by a snake.

The person who remains anonymous was said to have been bitten on the ankle as she walked through long grass back to the resort in Jomtien Soi 6.

The woman was taken to Pattaya Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The snake was identified as a Pit Viper, which can be found across Thailand. They are often found under dry leaves, stones old wood or in long grass and are usually nocturnal.

Their bite can be painful but due to anti-venom being available, their bites are rarely fatal.
