Jomtien Beach was a hive of activity on the first day of the Songkran celebrations as tourists, expats and local people enjoyed the festivities.
The five kilometre stretch of golden sands was inundated with people lapping up the sun, swimming or enjoying some food and drink.
Traffic was heavy as the New Year celebrations commenced.
With so many visitors to the area, the excellent weather conditions, traders were said to making the most of the situation.
There is so much to do at Jomtien, such as jet-skis, banana boats, speed boats, parasailing, miles of sandy beaches and not forgetting the many bars, restaurants and street vendors.
The beach is a great choice for those looking for something different to do during Songkran.
