Pattaya authorities have told the public to expect traffic delays as work beings in central Pattaya to bury power cables.
The work will be carried out from Sukhumvit road right up to the sub-station in Central Pattaya and will involve power cables being buried down the centre of the road resulting in road closures and barriers.
Work will start on Tuesday (August 15) and is scheduled to go on for up to three months!
The electrical authority has warned that the project will likely disrupt local businesses.
A meeting was held with deputy mayor Apichart Wirapan, which covered possible problems that might arise from the works as well as solutions to those problems.
The cables are being buried in an effort to stop power cuts in the area.
Over the three month period a total of 1,100 meters of cable will be run under the road at a coat of 75 million baht to the city.
Many have taken to social media to voice their concerns over this latest project with many stating that they hope it does not drag on as long as the Pattaya tunnel project which might finally open later this month.
