Police were forced to set up a 100 meter perimeter yesterday afternoon after a lorry carrying 25 tonnes of highly flammable chemicals lost control.
And overturned on Route 36 the Krathing Lai- Rayong road heading towards Pattaya.
The lorry’s cargo, methyl methacrylate was spilled all over the road as a result of the accident.
The driver Kitisak Jaidiaw, 36, told officers that a vehicle to his right began leaning towards him causing him to lose control of his vehicle which in turn led to the lorry overturning and the chemicals spilling out.
The driver was reportedly on route to the Laem Chabang port.
Police are still carrying out investigations as a result of the incident, there was no report of any injuries.
Methyl Methacrylate is an industrial chemical which can be harmful if breathed in or if it comes into contact with a person’s skin.
