Video: Unidentified Russian tourist killed crossing the road in Pattaya

It has been reported that a Russian tourist has died after being hit by a motorbike as he was crossing a road in Pattaya earlier today (March 8.)

Speaking to reporters regarding the accident Pol Capt Phakkapol Taninyanathorn of the Na Jomtien police force said that the accident took place outside of the Ambassador City Jomtien Hotel on the Pattaya to Sattahip Road at 7:45am this morning.

The tourist who was struck and killed is believed to be roughly 60-years-old and as yet has not been identified as he was not carrying any identification.

The driver of the motorcycle involved 39-year-old Rampheung Thepwarin and passenger Sudarat Sawaengsuk, her 19-year-old daughter were both injured in the collision and both were rushed to the Navy Hospital, no report was given as to if either were wearing crash helmets.

Witnesses told investigating officers that the motorcycle involved was traveling at high speed when the collision occurred.

  1. Apparently the German was ignorant of local traffic and speeds. Blindsided is what it’s called. And maybe Thai a little too fast for such an unexpected pedestrian and a heavy passenger which would make swerving more difficult.
