It was all hands on deck yesterday when eight fire engines were called in after a fire broke out at the Fairtex Sports Club and Hotel in North Pattaya.
The fire reportedly happened in the Sauna section of the hotel where thick smoke could be seen billowing out from the second floor of the hotel.
The story originally reported by Manager stated that fire crews had difficulty getting the blaze under control as there was a lot of wood used in the area where the fire had started.
Fire crews did manage to extinguish the blaze after roughly 30 minutes.
Following the incident Bang Lamung’s district chief Naris Niramaiwong spoke to reporters regarding fire crew’s initial assessments into how the blaze started stating that it is their belief a tourist had increased the heat in the sauna which started the fire.
It was reported that no one was injured by the fire.
Prem Busarakhamwong an executive for the hotel also spoke to reports stating that until a detailed examination has been carried out it would be impossible to estimate the total cost the fire damage has caused.
Police and fire crews are still investigating the incident.
