It was reportedly a chaotic seen at the Pattaya Hospital yesterday after a huge explosion prompted doctors and nurses to evacuate patients from the hospital.

Not knowing the cause of the explosion doctors and nurses took the precaution of evacuating the patience from Muang Pattaya Hospital at 12pm yesterday.

It was later revealed that the explosion came from an exploding transformer behind the hospital in Pattaya Soi 3.

Over 100 patients many on gurneys or in wheelchairs were rapidly evacuated as well as new-born infants and out-patients who were quickly transferred to Banglamung Hospital as a result of the incident.

One witness at the hospital said the lights flickered before multiple explosions were heard.
It was reported that the hospitals systems were back to normal after several minutes and its power supply was not directly affected by the transformer explosion.

After an inspection by District chief Naris Niramaiwong hospital patients were allowed back into the hospital later that day.
